Dagmara and Elizabeth, waldorf sisters

« wróć

Dagmara and Elizabeth are custom order dolls. They were supposed to be like their new mom's beloved granddaughter, with blue eyes and curly hair. In fact it was a rather long order. At first I have made both dolls. But only when they were ready, I made their hair for them. After hand sewing for few days (many elements of dolls and each wig is hand sewn), my hands were begging for a long holidays. But then it was time for making clothes, and both dolls got two sets of dresses, blouses and pants. Shortly I had a bunch of those on my desk. At the end both sisters got their toys: a little teddy bear and a baby doll.

Dagmara is 40 cm tall. I've made her wig with beautiful, curly goat hair. She has a plenty of those lovely locks on her head, and they are really hard to put in proper order. You can't even see her cute little ears form under her soft hair. She is delightful to hold in your arms, and dressing her hair is great fun for long and chilly Autumn evenings.

Dagmara got two sets of clothes. I've made her dress from my favourite Paperie fabric. It has light blue colour and a tiny flowers pattern. If I could I would make everything out of it: clothes for me, my daughter, all our dolls, few pillows and a quilt. I've ordered it few months ago and so far I've only used it to make a cute bonnet for my sweet Monica and a dress for little Lily. I dreamt about making a beautiful dress for a big doll. But that's just the case, that a favourite fabric is harder to cut ;)

When the time came to plan Dagmara's clothes, I thought about that ideal dress. Dagmara was born at late summer, and I wanted to keep that last warm moments in her summer dress.

Dagmara also got a blouse, pants and striped tights. To help keep her hair in order I made her a girly head band with cute little crocheted flower.

Dagmara's little sister was called Elizabeth. She has blue, smiling eyes and the softest, fluffy hair I have ever made. Her hair was made from Tibetan lamb skin. It's a little curly and in natural ash blonde shade. Elizabeth is 30 cm tall and at that height, her hair are just long enough to reach her shoulders.

Just like her older sister, Elizabeth got two sets of clothes. She has an elegant dress with high waist and collar. She wears a matching bonnet with decorative ribbon and tulle flowers. This bonnet is perfect to hide her wild hair under. The second sets of clothes is a flowery blouse and a grey-white pants.

Sisters also got a little teddy bear with blue flower in it's ear and cute little tulle skirt. To help them practice taking care of little babies, they also got a small baby doll. Their little brother has blonde hair made from mohair yarn and removable little hat with two, long ears on top.

It was a real pleasure to work on this adorable siblings. Each doll was a separate challenge, even more that they were supposed to be much alike but different at the same time. I think I did pretty good job :)
